UN-SPIDER is currently conducting its 8th annual Regional Support Offices (RSOs) meeting at the United Nations Offices in Vienna (UNOV). The meeting, which runs from 6-8 June, brings together representatives from participating RSOs and additional supporters of the programme.
The RSO network continues to be a strong pillar within the UN-SPIDER programme, as RSOs contribute to UN-SPIDER activities in efforts related to capacity building, institutional strengthening, and knowledge management. Their corresponding offices communicate and coordinate with UN-SPIDER on a regular basis on issues pertaining to horizontal cooperation, technical advisory support, rapid mapping during emergency responses, the preparation of specific publications and content for the knowledge portal, as well on-going contributions to workshops and conferences.
Outcomes from this annual meeting will feed into the proposed work UN-SPIDER will be looking to carry out in the following year, with the continued support of the RSO network.
